THE Secret Gardens tours for 2013 begin on Saturday, led by volunteer guides and gardeners at Hereford Cathedral and continues every Saturday and Wednesday at 2.30pm.

The Secret Gardens tour explores the natural world from medieval times to the present day with behindthe- scenes access to gardens not normally open to the public, including the award-winning Chapter House Garden and the Dean’s Garden.

Garden tours are subject to dry weather and cathedral events, so you are advised to check before setting out. Contact the visits office at visits@herefordcathedral.

org or call 01432 374210 to check if tours are running. Group guided tours for other days and times, which include refreshments or a Herefordshire cream tea served in the elegant College Hall, can be booked on 01432 374202.

There will also be an Open Gardens event in Wellington on Saturday and Sunday, July 6 and 7, with 19 village gardens open.

Light refreshments and plant sales will be available at the Community Centre, and tickets at £5 per adult can be purchased on the day from the church.
