BRIGHTWELLS report a successful sale of Pedigree in lamb Ewes at Builth Wells Market on January 27.

The Champion of the day was awarded to a Beulah Speckled Faced Yearling Ewe from DE and G Davies and Son, Llwynpiod and sold for the top price of 630gns to the Judges Geriant and Lloyd Powell, Glanmihelli. The Ewe was sired by a Llwyncadwgan Ram Purchased in 2014 and scanned for a single to the Llwyncadwgan ram bought at 10,000gns in 2015.

The second prize ewe was from T Davies and Co, Llwyncadwgan, scanned in lamb to the Cilane ram that was bought for 6,000gns last autumn, this ewe was sold for 600gns to Geriant and Lloyd Powell, Glanmihelli

Next at 510gns was a homebred Three year old form G Jones, Pencae, Fellingwm sold scanned with twins to a Pencrug bred ram this ewe was purchased by B I Price and Son, Affallenchwerw.

In all the 8 Beulah Ewes sold to average £438.

In the Bluefaced Leicester section First Prize went to a smart Yearling ewe from DE and G Davies and Son, Llwynpiod selling for 600gns again to the Judges Geriant and Lloyd Powell, Glanmihelli. This ewe was by EI SP Dalpeddar and scanned carrying triplets to J1 Myfrain X.

Next at 580gns was an Ewe lamb from GT Davies and Son, South Hill Farm, Wiston. This lamb was sired by H1 Tygwyn and out of a Z9 Hewgill she sold to Messrs Davies, Llanerchafod, Cross Gates. The Blue Faced Leicesters sold to average £416.
