PUPILS at a Hereford school were jumping for joy following a visit by an Olympic hurdler.
Matt Elias, who took part in the Athens Olympics in 2004 and won gold at the 2003 European Championships, dropped in on St Paul’s Primary School in Tupsley as part of a nationwide Superschools programme.
The scheme sees sports stars visit schools in a bid to encourage youngsters to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
St Paul’s headteacher Andrew Teale said: “It was an outstanding whole school event at every level.”
