PUPILS from a Herefordshire school enjoyed their own Prime Minister’s question time.

About 30 pupils from Colwall Primary School met David Cameron during a trip to London last Wednesday.

The encounter took place just minutes after the PM met former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev in Downing Street.

Dozens of year six pupils made Big Society posters on the offchance of meeting Mr Cameron during a tour of his residence.

But they got something better – a one-to-one discussion around the cabinet room table after the PM learned he had visitors.

Headteacher Paul Chambers said: “it was a once in alifetime opprtunity. He told us about the history of the great room in which we sat and spoke of that evening’s meeting with the Queen.

“He commended our Big Society posters with great admiration and even answered questions about his cat.”

The trip coincided with a year six project on the Second World War and included the Imperial War Museum and other major sights.

The meeting ended an excellent week for the school, as it was announcedOfSted will not hold an inspection until 2012 because of good results.
