The Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) has confirmed a student has tested positive for coronavirus.

The college, based in Hereford, said swift action has been taken and all students from the household bubble in question are self-isolating in their residential hall.

"The Herefordshire outbreak team and Department for Education have been informed and have approved the measures in place," a spokesperson said.

"RNC staff will continue to work closely with them and strict safety protocols will continue to be followed, in line with local and national guidance, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the whole college community."

The spokesperson added: "The students concerned will remain in isolation until advised otherwise, and their lessons will continue remotely for the duration of this period."
