CATH Evans has been one of the pianists of the Hereford Rail Choir since it was founded in 1995 and it is with regret that she has decided to stand down.

Cath is one of two accompanists for the choir, who share the work of playing the piano at rehearsals and concerts.

She has been a loyal supporter of the choir and her humour and hard work have been appreciated by both members and audiences alike. She is acknowledged for her contribution to the success of the choir and she will be greatly missed.

The choir entertains a wide variety of audiences across the county and beyond, and because of its size, is ideally placed to perform in smaller venues. It goes from strength to strength under the current leadership of Derek Gough, who is also one of its founder members. The membership of the choir is well balanced, with older members, joined by more recently recruited ones.

The choir has a wide repertoire, ranging from traditional Welsh hymns and songs through to modern classics from current West End Shows. It rehearses on Wednesday evenings at the Railway Club, from September to May and performs concerts for charities about twice per month during that period.
