FOURTEEN members of Bromyard Branch of the RBL had a night at the Bromyard Bowls Club on June 19.

Most of them were new to bowling but received excellent tuition to get them started.

The club provided all the necessary equipment and all the visitors had to do was wear flat soled shoes on the artificial playing surface.

Some proved to be rather good and are looking into joining the club.

If you go onto the club website bromyardbowls.co.uk/ you will read that anyone new to bowling can join them on a Tuesday evening for a couple of free sessions where you will receive expert guidance and coaching to introduce you to the sport.

The club house and grounds are nestled in a picturesque landscape down past the Bromyard Rugby Club Grounds.

They are a small, but intimate bowls club and new members will be made welcome.

The next day Dr Dennis Ferriday the club captain visited the RBL at Poppy HQ to find out how the bowls club could become involved with poppy making and participate in the Poppy Pageant Parade on September 15.

He is keen to get club members poppy making and hopes they will make about 20 blooms.

Anyone interested in making a By-pass poppy can visit the Facebook page facebook.com/rblBromyard to view a step by step video.
