IT was a beautiful day for, what turned out to be, a busy afternoon at the Knighton and District Rotary Club's Rotary Awareness stall at the Knighton Show on August 26.

The whole showground was humming, with families enjoying all the ring events, stalls and other activities on offer.

Rotary president Howard Goslyn said, after the event, "We were very pleased to be able to offer families an easy way to support our charity work in the community, with a tombola for the adults, a "pull a prize" for the children and a golf putting competition for everyone".

Rotary community chairman Nick Stimpson added "We approached the Knighton Men's Shed to make the "pull a prize" box for us and they did an excellent job. It was a real favourite for the kids at 20p a go and everyone was a winner!"

President Howard added " Thanks goes to John Thorogood and everyone at the Men's Shed, as well as all Rotary members who helped on the day, the Knighton Show and Carnival Committee, and everyone who came and supported us!"
