A DEDICATED handyman in Hereford is set to retire after seven years working to improve the appearance of the city centre.
Chris Wood is the lead handy-person for Hereford Business Improvement District (BID), which represents firms in the city, but it said he would be leaving in March.
Hereford BID said Mr Wood, a well-known face to both visitors and the business community, has been a highly-valued senior member of the team, planting flowers, removing gum, painting walls and similar jobs for seven years.
Mike Truelove, chief executive for the Hereford BID, said: "Whatever the weather or task, Chris has worked incredibly hard to help manage the city and keep it looking its best – he will be a difficult act to follow when he leaves next March."
The Hereford BID is now searching for his replacement, inviting anyone with the right skills to get in touch for a chat.
