AN artist who set up her own business six years ago has been given an award from a home renovation website which boasts 35 million users.

Victoria Hopkins from Hentland, near Ross-on-Wye, set up Urban Eye Cufflinks in 2010 selling cufflinks and following its success set up The Curious Hat- producing vintage inspired prints.

Houzz, a website which brings homeowners and home professionals together, got in touch with Mrs Hopkins and asked her if she was like to have a profile on their website, which she accepted.

And this month she has been given an award for client satisfaction on the website, which is a place to browse home renovation ideas and designs and connect to professionals- it is now community of more than 35 million homeowners, home design enthusiasts and home improvement professionals.

Mrs Hopkins said: "I am surprised and delighted to win this award. I work very hard to make my customers happy and it is gratifying they appreciate all my hard work."

Mrs Hopkins draws, paints, inks and prints unique and individual artwork.

The customer service badge is based on several factors, including the number and quality of recent client reviews.

Mrs Hopkins studied art at college in Milton Keynes but decided to study sociology and cultural studies at university.

She worked in consultancy for a few years, but did not enjoy it, and decided to set up her cufflinks business in 2010, followed by The Curious Hat in 2014. She now earns a living wage from her businesses.

Mrs Hopkins is married to George and they have a daughter called Alice.

This year she is going to study jewellery design at Hereford College of Arts.
