A HEREFORD superstore has shown shoppers its plans for a petrol station.

Asda wants to build the forecourt on a patch of unused land just off the Belmont roundabout, next to the entrance to the store.

Plans were submitted to Herefordshire Council last May, although a decision on whether the scheme can go ahead has yet to be made.

In documents sent to the council with the application, Asda is proposing 12 filling positions with motorists having the option to pay at the pump or inside a kiosk which also forms part of the application.

An Asda spokesman said: "We recently held an exhibition presenting our plans for a new petrol filling station at our Hereford Supercentre and were delighted with the high level of positive feedback.

"Discussions continue with councillors, officers and the community and we look forward to continuing this dialogue as our plans progress."
