Come October, the scheme is replaced instead by loans that will paid back through your energy tariff. For details, and to book a potentially money-saving energy survey for your home, business or community building, call Mandy Brick on 01588 630683 or email mandy@lightfoot. org.uk. In October and November there will be eco-homes talks, workshops and open homes. To take part, get in touch with Mandy.

PHEASANTS - Four two-day-old baby pheasants came to visit infants at Knighton Primary School. During their visit children in the class had a chance to hold the chicks as well as make sure they had food and water.

The pheasants came from the farm of classroom assistant Vanessa Gibbons where she rears them with her husband Crawford.
