POSTPONED - The village fete due to be held on Saturday has been postponed due to the wet weather. It is provisionally arranged for August 11 and a final decision will be taken at a meeting of the organising committee in the village hall on August 1 at 7.30pm.
COUNCIL - Aymestrey Parish Council meets on Wednesday at 8pm in the village hall.
THEATRE - Mikron Theatre Company visits Aymestrey Village Hall on August 17 at 7.30pm with Losing the Plot. Mikron is a little touring company with a reputation for tackling large scale subjects and turning history into vivid and dramatic entertainment. Losing the Plot is a story of love – between people and the land; between people and people; and between people and their giant vegetables – and is told with a rollicking mix of old music hall tunes and brand new songs.
There will be a licensed bar, refreshments and a raffle. Tickets are £10 each (£8 concessions), available on 01568 709031, 770367 or 770486.
