PARISH COUNCIL - The March meeting heard that the date for the Diamond Jubilee event has now been moved to June 4. Ewyas Harold will be notified that its Community Technology Grant application for equipment to be used in the Horsecroft Community Facility has been approved. Councillor Mrs E Overstall was thanked for organising the Parish Plan public meeting on March 3.

Meetings have also taken place at Dulas and Rowlestone. The community library facility planned for Horsecroft is still waiting for a reply from Hereford housing legal department.

The next meeting of the council will be held at Rowlestone Village Hall on April 3, at 7.15pm.

LENT LUNCH - Today (Thursday), the fourth in the series will be held in The Baptist Hall from noon. At 1pm, share soup and rolls and enjoy a time of fellowship together. The subject this week will be criticism and prejudice.

All are welcome.

PAMPERED CHEF - Discover the chef in you at a cooking show, today (Thursday), starting at 6.45pm in St Michael’s Hall. Tickets cost £3.

PRIMARY SCHOOL - Year five children visited Fairfield High School to experience world stories. Tomorrow (Friday) there will be a fun run at school in aid of Sport Relief. Entry is £1 and open to all children, parents, carers and friends so come along to the school at 2pm for a fun afternoon.

TRAVELLERS’ TALES - The third and last session will be tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30pm, in the Methodist Chapel when Ian Howie will give his postponed talk on the Masai Mara region of Kenya as seen through a photographer’s eyes. There will be a retiring collection at the end of the talk.

QUIZ - The night will start at 7.30pm on Saturday, where eight teams on eight tables will be competing for the ultimate honour of EHBC quiz champ and to raise money for this year’s chosen local charity, Longtown Mountain Rescue. Organised by Mim Roberts, Helen Capel and Jenni Whistance this event will kick off the 150th anniversary year. Tickets are £20 per table or £2.50 each (up to eight people per team). Drinks and nibbles are included in the ticket but you are also welcome to bring your own drinks.

TAIZE PRAYER - There will be service in Ewyas Harold Primary School on Sunday at 4pm.

BISHOP’S SCHOOL CHOIR - On Tuesday, this special choir will be singing for the first of the Easter services in the benefice at St Faith’s, Bacton, starting at 7.30pm.
