EXTRA police patrols have been in place across Herefordshire overnight following the riots that have swept the country.
A larger than normal police presence was seen in the centre of Hereford last night and around the market towns.
Speaking this morning police press officer Toby Shergold said Tuesday evening in the county “passed off without incident”.
Twelve people were arrested in the West Mercia area last night, however.
Detective Superintendent Martin Lakeman said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank members of the public who contacted us to inform us of groups of youths gathering or suspicious incidents which resulted in us swiftly deploying officers and removing the threat with positive action.”
