MORE than 100 cattle breeders from across the world came to the county last week and were overwhelmed by two things – the top class quality of Hereford cattle and the magnificent beauty of the Herefordshire countryside.
Most of them came from Europe but others hailed from Brazil, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and, with the help of the weather were seeing the county and its cattle at their best.
The occasion was the 13th European Hereford Conference.
This year it was the UK’s turn and it was hosted by the Hereford Cattle Society.
The number of breeders who turned up justified the claim there was a worldwide resurgence in the Hereford breed and growing appreciation of the taste and eating quality of its beef.
