AN organisation that works tirelessly to promote not just music but inclusivity through music has been awarded this year’s Elgar in Hereford award for its contribution to the musical life of the country.
The Music Pool, headed by Rob Strawson and Dennis Schiavon, with support from Mina Nakamura and Nicky Jacques, celebrated its 10th birthday last year with a party that reflected the amazingly diverse nature of its work.
“Everything we do,” said Rob at the time, “is underpinned by the credo that the lives of both the individual and the community are enhanced by music.”
