Shobdon pupils have been comparing modern day warfare with the horrors of the Second World War.
Pupils at Shobdon Primary School held a VE Day celebration and enjoyed concert and street parties as part of their historical studies.
“The street party was due to be outdoors but because of the rain we held it inside,” said headteacher Vicky Hancock.
“We have been looking at the Second World War for a term. We have made a film and done lots of activities including baking using wartime recipes for the street party.”
Two workshops were held, including one learning about air raid wardens and another with a soldier currently serving.
Meanwhile, Shobdon Arches playgroup has just celebrated its first anniversary.
It has been based at the school since its formation.
