The maker of Stinking Bishop cheese, featured in the latest Wallace and Gromit movie, is still turning away half his orders, months after the film's release.

The cheese's place in The Curse of the Were Rabbit brought massive demand for Charles Martell, of Laurel Farm, Dymock.

However, limited production meant four out of five orders could not be met.

This week, he said: "It's still going well, too well in fact. I had hoped the rise in interest would have ended by now.

"I can't be bothered to go into mass production but this is something that I'll always remember."

Would-be customers have been knocking on the door of Laurel Farm from as far away as Lancashire. Mr Martell has heard that a Wallace and Gromit fan in London walked into a cheese shop and paid £10 just for an empty wooden box, stamped with the legend Stinking Bishop.

Because of the scarcity value, a single Stinking Bishop cheese recently sold on ebay for the incredible sum of £60.
