SUNDAY saw the semi-finals of both cup competitions in thesoccersite.co.uk Malvern Football League.

In the inaugural Norman Simmons Senior Cup, current holders of The Senior Cup, Oak Allstars, will meet Cross Keys at New Street, Ledbury on May 14.

Oak Allstars entertained fellow Oak side Misfits and were made to work hard before finally going through with a 4-0 scoreline.

In a tight first-half, Oak Misfits more than held their own and a battling display saw the only goal from Allstars' Anthony Bradford.

Allstars started the second-half much better but they had to wait until the substitution of league top scorer, Jamie James, before they increased their lead, substitute Mark Tomans scoring with his first touch. It became 3-0 when a thundering shot by James Dean, which was destined for the net, was touched over the line by Chris Stone. James Dean got onto the scoresheet when he netted the fourth to put the holders through.

Their opponents in the final will be high- flying Cross Keys but not before they were given a fright at Fromes Hill, who twice equalised before a flurry of late goals saw Cross Keys go through 5-2.

Ollie Endacott gave the visitors the lead with a close range tap-in. Fromes Hill equalised through Ross Sweetman only for Cross Keys to again take the lead with a well-struck shot from 25 yards by Steve Brookes.

Fromes Hill hit back again with Sean Edwards notching up the equaliser. Both sides had chances before Cross Keys regained the lead with the goal of the game, a 25-yard screamer from Ollie Endacott.

Fromes Hill battled hard for the equaliser but two late goals put paid to their efforts as firstly Ollie Endacott netted from the penalty spot to notch up his hat-trick and Rob Cullen completed the scoring.

The semi-finals of the President's Cup were both played after being postponed the previous Sunday. Bell Inn 98 went through to the final with a 4-0 victory at Keyz 04.

Dan Herbert broke the deadlock with a superb individual goal, dribbling past several defenders and then firing past the home keeper to give Bell Inn 98 a lead at half-time.

As with their previous two league meetings, early second-half goals from the Bell Inn 98 killed the game off with Chris Grubb, Dan Herbert and Ashley Jones on target.

In the final on April 30, also at Ledbury Town, they will meet Dynamo Ledbury.

They entertained Oak Academy under lights on Monday night and in front of a good-sized crowd, won 4-1.

Dynamo took the lead through a penalty for a handball, Adam Thomas fired the spot-kick home. Dynamo made it 2-0 after 30 minutes when Pete Boyle beat the offside trap. The same player made it 3-0 just before half-time with a shot from just inside the area.

Pete Boyle completed his hat-trick early in the second half with a chip over the keeper as Dynamo kicked down the slope.

The Academy put the home goal under pressure with Dynamo keeper Mark Davis making several good saves before the visitors netted a deserved goal from Wayne Wilband from the edge of the area.

In division one, Talbot Head kept up their good form with a 5-0 win for the second week, this time over visitors Ganglands.

Lee Watts led the goalscorers with a fine hat-trick.

Morgan Aero 8 beat Fromes Hill Reserves 2-1 with both their goals coming from Conrad Arnold, with the visitor's goal coming from Matt Brookes.

Dynamo Ledbury, playing the first of two games in two days, beat Keys Victoria 2-0 with goals from Adam Thomas and Matt Chalkley.

Ledbury Rangers and Belmont Keys shared the points in an entertaining 2-2 draw. Alan Barnes gave the home side the lead before an excellent lob from Belmont's Dave Jones levelled things up. Jones then gave the visitors the lead before Matt Dance made it 2-2.

This Sunday sees what could be a pivotal game in the race for the title as leaders Bell Inn 98 entertain Cross Keys at Bosbury.
