THE A44 at Bringsty, near Bromyard, was closed for several hours on Wednesday after a lorry overturned.
The 44-tonne yellow Daf articulated lorry had been negotiating a sharp bend, around two miles outside Whitbourne. It was carrying 20 tonnes of plastic granules.
The lorry plunged into a ditch and then carried on down an embankment, overturning. The driver escaped unhurt.
Part of the road surface collapsed in the incident, at around 9.45am. The A44 was closed for several hours while the vehicle was recovered. All three emergency services attended.
Police want to speak anyone who witnessed the accident. Call PC Jill Richardson, at Bromyard Police Station, on 08457 444888.
