Ledbury Town's West Midlands premier division relegation woes were eased on Saturday with a 4-2 win over in-form Pelsall Villa.

LEDBURY TOWN 4, PELSALL VILLA 2

Ledbury started the better and always looked dangerous, with Nicky Welch and Alex Volosanovs both going close. It was Welch who opened the scoring on 20 minutes, firing low into the corner past Jones in the Pelsall goal.

Following this, Ledbury failed to clear their lines and allowed Pelsall to equalise on the half-hour.

Not deterred, Ledbury continued to look dangerous and it was man-of-the-match Welch who again scored with a well-taken goal to make it 2-1 at the break.

In the second-half Ledbury looked comfortable and soon added to their tally when Welch picked out Volosanovs, who scored with a fine header on 50 minutes.

Ledbury completed their scoring when the impressive Welch found captain Stuart Hall to slot home.

The visitors did score a second with a few minutes left but never looked like adding to their total

Tomorrow (Saturday), Ledbury have a changed fixture and will now travel to Shawbury. The coach leaves New Street ground at 11.45am.
