FOR a second time, Hereford's Eign Gate Acorns shop has sold a winning lottery ticket - this time to one of its own volunteers.
Richard Burroughs has worked in the shop for four years and always buys a ticket for the hospice lottery, run jointly by Acorns Children's Hospice and St Richard's Hospice.
Richard will be sharing his windfall with his parents but the only thing he knows he'll be buying with his share is another lottery ticket, "because it's for Acorns".
The Hospices Lottery is urging others to join Richard. Dawn Scott, from The Hospices Lottery, said: "It's a lot of fun and a great and easy way to help raise money for two extremely worthwhile local charities."
Prizes range from £5 to the jackpot of £1,000 and players can buy a one-off ticket or sign up to play regularly.
Anyone interested in joining the Hospices Lottery and helping raise essential funds should call 01905 723503.
