Local landlord Gordon Bucher is the brains behind a gig to raise money for children's charity Acorns on April 2.

Originally inspired to raise cash for the tsunami disaster, Gordon and his son thought it would be cool for bands who play in his pub, The Wye Inn, on a Friday and Saturday night to have a bigger venue to play.

"Local charity Acorns is close to our heart because a friend of mine's son, Robert, has used its facilities. It was a natural choice," said Gordon.

Live music will be provided by local rock band The Renditions, Life - who are back with a new line-up, British Smirnoff Sing Off champion, Aaron, female vocalist Hayley, male vocalist Ian Marshall and Pop Idol star Jessica Garlick - whose brother Travis will also be joining in the fun. Female dance trio, Body Language, complete the entertainment.

Your admission ticket will automatically enter you into the draw for a £400 electric guitar, donated by Nick Fisher Music, and signed by Shakin' Stevens.

Tickets for the gig on April 2 are £10 and are available from The Wye Inn, Holme Lacy Road, Nick Fisher Music and on 0788 1521528.
