INDUSTRIAL land in Kington has been earmarked as a household waste site for a second time, despite objections from Kington Town Council and some householders.
Planners last week renewed permission for land at the Hatton Gardens Industrial Estate to be used as a "bring site" where householders can deposit bulky rubbish and items for recycling.
A report said Kington was the only town in the county without a waste site and householders needing such a facility were forced to make a 30-mile round trip to Leominster.
Cars would enter the proposed Kington site via the industrial estate and follow a one-way system to reach containers provided for sorted waste.
The facility would open three days a week - Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday - from 8am until 6pm.
Kington Town Council said access roads were unsuitable and vehicles travelling to the site would increase risks to pedestrians.
"The restricted entrance would result in vehicles queuing on the industrial estate," the town council added.
Herefordshire councillors approved the plan with a string of conditions.
