Ross Town 1 Headington 4
Ross suffered their first defeat since the middle of January when they were comprehensively beaten in the GLS Hellenic League Division 1 West.
Ross looked the stronger side in the first 20 minutes and could have been two goals up with chances from Andy Sherlock and Luke Gray.
But it was Headington who took the lead when Ross keeper Tom Whittaker was adjudged to have impeded a player in the box and the resulting penalty was well placed into the bottom corner of the net.
On 42 minutes Headington got their second when a free-kick was not dealt with by the Ross defence and the ball was tapped in at the far post.
Ross were hoping to regroup at half-time but just before the interval whistle Heading got the killer blow when Whittaker failed to hold a cross in the swirling wind and a striker pounced.
The second half saw Ross respond well and they managed the best goal of the match. Alex Brown fed Dewi Stuart on the right wing and he hit an unstoppable shot across the keeper and into the top corner of the net.
Ross were by far below their best and Headington capitalised on this late in the game when a striker rounded keeper Whittaker to finish off the game.
The game was marred deep into injury time with the sending off of Alex Brown.
