A WOMAN was hurt when her car left the main Hereford to Hay-on-Wye road.

The 54-year-old was travelling on the A438 at 9.15am last Thursday when her white Peugeot saloon collided with fencing and trees outside Bull Farm in Letton.

All three emergency services attended and the road was closed for four hours as collision investigators examined the scene.

The woman was taken by air ambulance to Hereford County Hospital and her condition was said to be critical yesterday (Wednesday).

Last Thursday, a motorcyclist was in collision with a van where Beattie Avenue meets Belmont Road and an ambulance was needed to take the biker to Hereford County Hospital with minor leg injuries.

Meanwhile, police have confirmed that the motorist seriously injured in a road accident near Ross-on-Wye last week is still fighting for his life in Bristol's Frenchay Hospital.

The man, whose Renault Laguna was in collision with a school bus at Bishopswood on Tuesday, February 2, was said to be in a critical condition as the Hereford Times yesterday (Wednesday) went to press.
