Ledbury Outdoor Bowls Club entered a charity tournament in aid of Air Ambulance at the Wormelow indoor bowling centre on Sunday.

A total of 10 teams, mostly from Herefordshire, entered and each team played four of the other teams.

In total Ledbury won 100-39 and Air Ambulance should benefit well from the green fees, raffles and plant sales.

Winning rink scores: Alan Welch, Peter Hughes, Bob Loveridge, John Meredith v Monmouth 20-9; Mary Gill, Colin Baldwin, Terry Witherstone, Rodney Gill v St Martin's 19-13; Elspeth Harmsworth, David Turner, Dave Chewter, Norman Douse v Kingsland 28-8; Sue Jaynes, Peter West, Keith Bufton, Rob Jaynes v Hereford 33-9. Total 100-39.

Any new bowlers to the Ledbury area, or beginners of all ages, are most welcome to join the club based in Bank Crescent.

They play league and friendly games plus in-club tournaments from April to September.

Also members continue over the winter months at the Malvern indoor facilities.
