TRADE Union education is making a return to Hereford.

After a two-year delay the Trade Union Congress is set to start a series of courses at the city's WRVS Riverside Centre.

The training will be jointly organised by the Workers Educational Association and TUC education in the Midlands.

Pay bargaining, disciplinary procedures and health and safety are among the topics to be covered. There will also be specific work-related education to help people to become more skilled and knowledgeable.

"The facilities here at the WRVS Riverside Centre are excellent and I'm sure it will prove to be a popular location," said Roger Mackenzie, TUC Midlands Regional Secretary on a visit to the town.

It is hoped to run 10-day training programmes in Hereford three times a year.

The first is scheduled to start in the first week in October.
