IT'S time for tea as Acorns puts out the call to tea-lovers in the county to put their kettles on, warm the pot and make a brew, all in the interests of raising money for the children's hospice.

The tea-time fundraiser is part of a national campaign, Tea at Three, organised by Help the Hospices and runs nationwide throughout June.

"This is a really simple and fun way to raise money for your local children's hospice," says Acorns' community fundraiser Lucy Howells.

"You could have a cream tea, a Mad Hatter's tea party or even a teddy bears' picnic - how you enjoy your cuppa for charity is entirely up to you."

Less than 10% of Acorns' running costs of £4,500 per hospice per day are funded by government. "All Acorns care is provided free of charge," added Miss Howells.

"Providing this care is only possible because of the commitment and support of local people."
