VETS and nurses from Leominster's Marches Veterinary Group took part in a charity run to raise money for animal welfare organisations.

The staff, who until last year worked for either the Ryelands Veterinary Clinic or John Horlock & Associates, decided to mark the group's first birthday by participating in the London 10-kilometre run.

Partner Stuart Collier is in Australia so his Australian replacement until October, Mark Crane, ran for the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.

Head nurse Sharon Wallace, equine vet Adrian Allan and small animal orthopaedic specialist John Davies all ran for PetSavers, a charity which funds research into different conditions such as liver and kidney disease in cats and dogs.

"We welcome anyone to the surgery who would like to add to the sponsorship money," said Andrew Praill, senior partner.
