SUNDAY saw Swifts travel to Kington for this Under 12s fixture and again they gave their supporters some reward for the long journey.

KINGTON 1, LEDBURY SWIFTS 3

Swifts dominated the opening quarter and a good move on the right wing involving Dan Powell and David Elvins saw Mark Carless fire home from close range. Dan Powell then hit the bar with a good shot.

The second half saw Swifts kick into a strong breeze and almost immediately Kington scored with a long shot that sailed into the net. Swift's defence now began to work well with Tim Rutherford, Matt Hinchcliffe, Matt Hodges and the lively Oli Dunn all playing well. Good work on the right saw Oli Dunn cross for Tom Locke to volley home at the far post. Within minutes left a Tom Locke throw found Mark Carless who played in Dan Herbert to shoot number three.

A late Kington penalty was fired wide but Swifts ran out good winners.
