Ledbury Rugby Club nearly pulled off the shock of the day on Saturday when they reached the final of the Luctonians annual sevens.
Ledbury only took part in the competition at the eleventh hour, lining up as a late entry after their friendly against Chosen Hill was called off.
Ten sides took part in the event including a number of touring sides from London but it was the hosts in the final against neighbours Ledbury with Ledbury finally going down 20-10.
Seven tries and some splendid rugby helped Ledbury's Ollie Kaye clinch the player of the tournament award - consolation for the club following their final disappointment.
