KYLE Waring was the solitary record breaker at Hereford Swimming Club's annual schools gala with victory in the boys' 14-and-under 50m free-style.
Waring, of Haywood, knocked half a second off Richard Preece's previous record set back in 1995.
In the secondary schools section there were good wins for Stephanie Buchanan, of St Mary's (open 100m freestyle), and Aylestone's Jean Bardo (girls' 50m freestyle), while Aylestone triumphed in the senior relays.
In the primary schools competitions Hereford swimmers were victorious in all of the 10-years events.
Ellie McHarg (Margaret Allen) was first in both the freestyle and butterfly, while Alex MacDougall (Much Birch) also picked up a double with backstroke and butterfly wins.
Other winners in the age group were Ben McLeod (Trinity - freestyle), Ashley Darby (Holmer - breaststroke), Virginia Bennett (Margaret Allen - breaststroke), Claire Griffiths (Margaret Allen - backstroke).
Also triumphant were 11-year-old Hereford members Stephanie Tully (Broadlands - breaststroke and butterfly), Scott Lewis Collard (Holmer - butterfly and freestyle), Sarah Lane (Burghill - freestyle) and Luke Appleby (Burghill - breaststroke).
St Paul's won the nine-years boys' and girls' freestyle relays, Trinity won the boys' 10/11 years freestyle relay, while Broadlands won the girls' event.
Burghill scored a treble with victory in the nine-years mixed relay, the small schools 10/11 girls and the mixed 10/11 years relay.
