POLICE in Bromyard are warning people to be on their guard for a team of builders.
It has been claimed that the buildres tried to 'con' the landlords of a local public house.
They arrived at the Royal Oak on the Bromyard Downs and quoted £350 to fill some potholes in the driveway.
But after completing the work they demanded payment of a bill for £1,680. A heated argument followed and the workers eventually left with their cheque for the originally quoted sum - but not before issuing threats to the terrified tenants.
The gang were driving a white Mercedes 'people carrier' with an S registration and are said to have spoken with Irish accents.
Anybody with any information should telephone 01432 276422.
