CHRISTIAN Aid in Hereford will receive a boost during July when hundreds of people explore the city's religious heritage and raise money for community development projects in the Developing World.
A Millennium Walk on July 8 will give the public a chance to follow a trail around Hereford city centre, which will highlight the growth and importance of Christianity over the last 1,000 years.
Hoping to take part will be Paul Keetch MP with his family and Mayor Richard Thomas, while Father Simon McGurk, of St Francis Xavier Church, will lead a short service on the Castle Green at 3pm.
Mrs Merryn Hellier, Christian Aid organiser for the Hereford area, said: "This will be a great day out for everyone."
People will be able to explore the city using a specially-produced map, which also doubles as an entry ticket and costs £2.
In addition to the map, the local Christian Aid committee has worked with historian David Whitehead to provide a booklet giving a short history of the places on the walk.
