A SYMBOL that says British is best was unveiled at the Three Counties Show.
Baroness Hayman and Richard Watson-Jones, vice-president of the National Farmers' Union, launched the British Farm Standard mark to the West Midlands, following its nationwide launch the previous week.
The Baroness said that the end had come for the bewildering array of food which claimed to be British.
"This has brought every regional producer in Britain together. We must support the mark to make it successful in the market place."
Mr Watson-Jones said the symbol, a red and blue tractor on a white background, was a victory for farmers.
British-produced food in supermarkets will now be labelled with the logo.
