FUN, friends, feasts and faith form Putley's Millennium celebrations.

The rural community, near Ledbury, has lined up a host of events to mark the year 2000, kicking off with a Gymkhana and Show on Sunday June 25.

Things heat up the following weekend with a disco in Putley Village Hall on Friday June 30, but the main event is the Parish Lunch on Saturday July 1.

The lunch is free to everyone living in the village, but former residents, friends and family are all warmly invited to come along. During the day there will also be a fete complete with stalls, rides and competitions.

And to round off the Saturday celebrations, the village ceilidh will have everyone dancing and singing into the night.

No experience is necessary to enjoy this evening of traditional folk dancing, which will include a pig roast. On Sunday July 2, a guided walk through the orchards and fruit-laden trees of the Putley countryside will provide a chance for some reflection, while the weekend will be rounded off with a Service of Thanksgiving in Putley Church at 3.30pm.

For tickets to the disco, parish lunch and the ceilidh contact Putley Post Office on 01531 670382 or pay on the night.
