THE Hereford-based boss of Nationwide Conference leaders Yeovil Town, Colin Addison, yesterday put the finishing touches to a £25,000 deal which took young Hereford United midfielder Michael McIndoe to Huish Park.

The clubs agreed on terms which included a further £5,000 if Yeovil win promotion to the Football League and a 25 per cent share of any future transfer deal.

Turner was reluctant to part with McIndoe, a 21-year-old who had attracted the interest of several other clubs.

The young Scot had missed only one match due to suspension since joining United on a free transfer from Luton Town in the summer and scored two goals in 33 appearances.

"Michael has done very well for us and always gives of his best with great enthusiasm," said the Hereford boss.

"However, finances dictate that I have to sell, and in this case I have a ready-made replacement in Paul Parry who is back in full training after a troublesome ankle injury."

Two other Hereford players were in the spotlight when they opposed each other in the semi-professional international between England and Wales at Rushden & Diamonds' Nene Park ground on Tuesday.

Gavin Williams played for Wales and goalkeeper Scott Cooksey made a late appearance for England in the goalless draw.

Turner travelled to watch the game and said: "Williams played the full match on his international debut but had little chance to show his attacking potential. England dominated the match but could not break down Wales' stubborn defence. Cooksey, who had played for England before joining us, only came on for the last two minutes."

The duo will be in the United team for the Nationwide Conference match against Nuneaton Borough at Edgar Street on Saturday, followed by the FA Umbro Trophy fourth round replay at Leigh RMI on Monday - a match which could prove vital to the Bulls' struggle for survival.

Turner said: "I am hoping for a bumper turnout on Saturday after our good performance at Hednesford and that our supporters get behind the team to put them in good heart for the crunch match at Leigh."

United do not have another home match until meeting Woking on Tuesday, March 6. The winners of Monday's Trophy tie are away to Morecambe in the fifth round on Saturday, February 24.
