Hereford Cathedral School boys qualified for the regional finals of the EHA RAF Careers Youth Cup when they won the Herefordshire under-16 round at Hereford Leisure Centre.
In a round robin competition involving the Cathedral School, Bishop's School and Leominster HC, they recorded wins over Leominster (2-0) and Bishop's (1-0) to move into the regional finals. Their goal scorers were Chris Mills (2) and Mark Lowden.
Bishop's beat Leominster 1-0 thanks to a goal from Mark Warren.
n Herefordshire came a creditable fourth in the girls' West Counties Under-15 Championships at Bristol.
The squad played well to record wins over the Channel Islands (2-0), Cornwall (1-0) and Wiltshire (2-0) and a draw against Avon (0-0).
Their goals came from Laura Stubbs (4), Ollie Linton (2), Jess Lambert and Abby Thomas.
Following the tournament Sarah Nightingale was invited to attend Western under-16 trials.
