Wellington 3 Causeway 2

A PETER Wallace brace helped Wellington to their first Banks's Brewery West Midlands League Premier Division double of the season in a thrilling clash that was a credit to both teams.

They attacked at every opportunity and an entertaining first half produced four goals with the high-flying visitors twice coming from behind to draw level.

Neil Bennett gave Wellington the lead when he raced on to a through ball from Mark Cross to neatly round the advancing goalkeeper. Causeway equalised when central defender Andy Morrison and his keeper Jim Panniers collided and dropped the ball invitingly at the feet of a striker.

Wellington regained the lead when Wallace headed home a left-wing cross from Brad Pearson, but Causeway again got on terms when a cross from the left evaded the home defenders to be driven home at the far post.

Play continued to sweep from end to end after the break. Wellington's Owen Marriot had his 30-yard drive tipped over the bar, and then home defender Ian Gray headed off the line.

The winner came 15 minutes from time with Pearson providing an accurate free-kick for Wallace to head home.
