A SPECIAL window has become a focal point for a Herefordshire village.
St David's Church in Little Dewchurch pulled out all the stops to celebrate the dedication of its stained glass millennium window on Sunday.
Bishop of Ludlow the Rt Rev. John Saxbee led the service with the Rev. Mark Johnson, team vicar.
The idea for the project came from the village's millennium committee, particularly from Viney Sainsbury, a long time resident and church organist at St David's.
The window was designed and made by well-known local artist, Nicky Hopwood working alongside the local community on the scheme.
This included running a village day when a whole host of people had a go at designing and making stained glass to find a design that best encapsulated the village and the spirit of the millennium.
The team finally came up with a layout, which reflects the power of the Holy Spirit, the River Wye and the local countryside.
The window has been a great success since it was installed in December last year.
Richard King, churchwarden, said: "Now it is time to dedicate the window and make it part of St David's Church for generations to come and enjoy."
