THE tale of a cockney flower girl rising through the ranks to the upper classes of Edwardian society will be retold in Ledbury by youngsters who have already proved to be far from amateur.
'Liza', an adaptation of Bernard Shaw's 'Pygmalion', is being performed by the young people's branch of the Ledbury Amateur Dramatics Society (LADS) from April 19-21.
It is their second production, following on from the huge success of last year's venture into the Shakespearean realm of 'Romeo and Juliet'.
The classic story will be brought to life in a lively production of music, comedy and romance at the Market Theatre in Ledbury at 7.30pm by a cast of 22, with ages ranging from 10 to 16.
As last year, the producer is Sandra Handscomb. Liza is being played by Alice Underhill and Professor Higgins by Craig Gardner.
Tickets priced £4.00 are available from Ledbury Books and Maps on 01531 633226.
