BRONCO Lane will satisfy his latest taste for adventure by going round in circles to raise funds for a local youth charity.
The ex-SAS major and conqueror of Mount Everest saddles up along with a small team for a 24-hour cycle ride around Hereford's King George's Playing Fields for the Taste For Adventure Centre (TFAC) at Credenhill during the Bank holiday weekend.
Starting at 3pm on Sunday May 6 the 'Cyclethon 2001' will see them carry a pennant in relays around the cycle circuit, returning to the start line after each lap.
In order to raise the money people are being invited to donate £2 and estimate how many laps are eventually completed - the three closest guesses will receive prizes.
An independent adjudicator from TFAC will note each completed lap and announce their final total - this information will be kept protected and secure until the end.
Bronco said: "All monies raised will be given to TFAC and used to help assist the local youth of today become better citizens of tomorrow, in particular, those from a disadvantaged back ground in Herefordshire."
In June 2000, Bronco cycled from Inverness to Hereford raising £2,000 for TFAC. This year he wants to double that figure.
Entries will not be accepted after 2pm on Monday May 7. For more information telephone TFAC on 01432 761398.
