LINTON PLAYGROUP -- The children meet on Friday afternoons in the village hall from 2pm until 4pm. Some of the children have now started school so there are some vacancies. Those who would like to view the group's activities or see the excellent facilities should contact Teresa Hemingway on 720236.

WOMEN'S INSTITUTE -- This month's meeting will be held today in the village hall at 7.30pm. Percy Roberts will be speaking on 'The Press for Good or Bad', so there should be an animated discussion afterwards. Bring entries for the Furlong Cup competition.

COFFEE MORNING -- The monthly coffee morning will be in the village hall on Wednesday, April 18, from 10.30am until 12 noon. The 100 Club draw will take place at the same time. Last month's winners were Nigel Vandyck -- £25, Linton Computer Group - £10 and Helen Smail -- £5. The special £100 prize was won by Joyce Anderson.

MOTHERING SUNDAY -- The special service held at St Mary's Church on March 25 was a great success. It was led by the Rev. Salli Vandyck and supported by a good congregation of all ages. Holy Communion was celebrated and blessing given to those who have not been confirmed. The congregation was invited to write their thoughts on how they were influenced by our faith and these slips of paper were woven in to a Moses basket made by Salli. Posies were given to all the ladies present and thanks extended to those who helped make them. Nan Watkins was congratulated on reaching her 90th birthday.
