NEW PROPRIETORS -- Congratulations to Darren and Gayna Jones, the new proprietors of The White Swan .

CHURCH COUNCIL -- At the last meeting of the parochial church council the vicar, the Rev. Nigella Tyson, was in the chair. Issues of fund-raising were discussed, and a new hymn book of a type used widely in Anglican churches was considered. The possibility of obtaining new kneelers was placed in the hands of Mrs Margaret Thurston who agreed to undertake the co-ordination of this work. Anyone who would like to assist in cross stitching a kneeler should contact her on 01544 388033.

PARISH COUNCIL -- The dog warden will report anyone whose dog fouls the footpaths, recreation ground or other public areas. Fines will be £50. There are major infections and health hazards which can result, including campylobacter and toxocariasis. At the annual parish meeting on May 9, the issue of the closed footpath near Monks Court will be discussed. Those interested should attend to voice their views about a possible re-siting of the path. Herefordshire Council is being pursued over the matter of blocked drains and ditches.

POOL -- The team which is based in The Cross Inn finished second in the Leominster Invitation Winter Pool League. Susy Speke received an award for being finishing runner-up in the Ladies Knockout competition. The summer league started on March 28. All are welcome to play on a Wednesday at 8pm.
