NORTHERN Racing, the recent new owners of Hereford Racecourse, have appointed Simon Kershaw as commercial manager for the course.
He joins the company after four years working for the on-course marketing department of the Tote.
"It is a great opportunity to be asked to join such a dynamic team as Northern Racing, particularly in the light of their record of success with other courses," he said.
After a career history spent working for National Hunt trainer Jim Old at Barbary Castle, Kershaw has since returned to the saddle on the odd occasion whilst working for the Tote, representing the company in several charity races that formed part of last year's Millennium appeal.
In his new position at the racecourse he will be responsible for all the commercial aspects of the business, including sponsorship, hospitality and paid attendance on race days.
