THE Hereford Evening League retained the Wood-Power Trophy for the fourth successive time in convincing fashion with a seven-wicket win over their Worcester counterparts in the annual challenge match.

Worcester totalled 138-7 in their 12 eight-ball overs after an opening stand of 74 in a promising start.

A Howarth hit a six and six fours in his 43 and D Powell's 31 included five fours. M Boden, 29 not out, and N Price, 16, were the only other double-figure scorers as wickets fell to Steve Fortey, 3-24, and Adam Herbert, 2-40, and two run-outs.

Herefordshire lost a wicket at 11 in reply before Will Symonds and Andrew Mawdsley, 31, shared a stand of 124. Symonds went on for an unbeaten 82, which included six sixes and two fours, and victory was achieved in 9.2 overs.
