RAMBLERS in Herefordshire are organising a limited programme to keep members walking while the foot and mouth restrictions are still in force throughout a major part of the county.

Walks organiser John Wride said: "We are arranging walks where it is possible to walk. Most of them have been outside Herefordshire in counties where more paths have been opened.

"Recently, we have been to the Brecon Beacons, Laurie Lee country in Gloucestershire and the Malvern Hills.

He added: "Hopefully, it won't be too long before more paths are opened in Herefordshire and we can get out for a ramble without driving too far and our normal programme can be resumed."

The following walks have been arranged:

l Sunday,July 15. An eight-mile moderate walk from Leominster to Ivington Camp and back. Meet at the Fire Station car park, Leominster for a 9.30am start. Telephone leader for more details on 01544 388849. Bring a packed lunch.
