COOKING up a storm, students at Queen Elizabeth High School, Bromyard, took on the purveyors of packaged food in a battle to bake the best pastries.
A panel of tasters tried the students' Victoria sponges, scones, muffins and biscuits and compared them with the best from supermarket shelves.
Sue Taylor at the school said that though the students beat the supermarkets it was the tasters who won the day!
"It was a bit of a mixture, but the tasters enjoyed it no end."
